The MSC Provincial Council is the governing body of the U.S. Province. This elected/appointed council operates in six year cycles and is made up of five Sisters; one Provincial Superior, her First Councilor and three other councilors. The Council is charged with the tasks of fostering life and unity within the community and coordinating the talents and gifts of the Sisters in the service of others and the mission of the congregation.
Inducted on August 6, 2017, the council pictured will serve for the next four years.
Sister Rosemarie Sommers, the new Province Leader, speaks for all MSC Sisters when she says: “Our mission today is the same as it was when we were founded over 100 years ago – to proclaim God’s compassionate love to all. In the troubling and challenging times of today, this mission is more important than ever. As Missionary Sisters of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus we are called to share God’s love through our being and our actions, in all circumstances, at all times, with all people. We are called to be the Heart of God on earth.”
